GNR/LNER/BR Ivatt Self-trimming Tender

HISTORY
Amongst the last of Ivatt's tender designs the Class A and Class B with an unequal wheelbase, 7ft 0in + 6ft 0in, and a capacity of 3000 gallons and 3500 gallons of water respectively. Wheels were still of 4ft 2in diameter.

THE KIT
The kit has an etched brass body and a separate etched brass inside chassis. The castings are whitemetal apart from the vacuum pipe which is cast brass. The chassis can be built either rigid or compensated. Only bearings for a rigid chassis are included in the kit, but it can be easily compensated using proprietary hornblocks, we suggest the use of our own, see the Accessories section of this handbook. Wheels need to be purchased separately, we can supply Slaters finescale wheels.
