HISTORY
The Webb 2000 gallon tender was first built in 1893 as a development of his 1800 gallon tender, and was fitted to the Greater Britains and the Webb 3 cylinder compound 0-8-0's. From 1895 coal rails were fitted above the flared copings. This resulted in the fire-iron hooks on the tender back being inaccessible from the tank top and they were subsequently removed, but not necessarily when the coal rails were added.

THE KIT
The kit has an etched nickel silver body and chassis. Castings are whitemetal except for the vacuum pipe which is cast brass. Bearings are supplied to make a rigid chassis although the chassis can be easily compensated using proprietary hornblocks, we suggest the use of our own, see the Accessories section of this handbook for further details. Wheels need to be purchased separately, we can supply Slaters finescale wheels.
